Secondary schools

Every on-call answered, in minutes.

Across a big site with hundreds of lessons running at once, teamSOS sends each call for help to the right responder, shows staff who's coming, and records everything as it happens.

Built for secondary

On-call that keeps pace with a busy site.

Dozens of calls a day, a site spread across buildings, and staff who need to know help is coming. teamSOS brings order to all of it.

01

The right responder, first time

Calls go straight to the right team for each incident type, with no one in the middle filtering them, and whoever can respond quickest picks it up.

02

One process, school-wide

Every member of staff calls for help the same way, so behaviour is handled consistently and leaders see the same picture.

03

The record writes itself

Every incident is logged as it happens and shared to your MIS, CPOMS or MyConcern, ready for patterns and follow-up.

Lockdown and Martyn's Law

Know every class is safe.

In a lockdown, leaders reach every adult on site in one tap and ask each to confirm they're OK. You see straight away who needs support, wherever they are.

Case study · The Derby High School

Better behaviour and standards, school-wide

How a secondary school in Bury changed its on-call process to teamSOS, coached staff to de-escalate, and improved behaviour and standards across the school.

Before using teamSOS staff would use the help button in SIMS, but it was never good enough for us and didn't prioritise anything. We knew we could do better, we just didn't know how.

Dermot WhiteDeputy Headteacher, The Derby High School

Our low-level disruption has significantly reduced, as students know that someone will arrive within minutes.

Paul EdmundsAssistant Headteacher, Blessed Edward Oldcorne Catholic College

It's allowed us to keep on top of all behaviour and develop a culture of consistency across the school. We very rarely miss things now.

Questions, answered

Frequently asked questions.

Our school has a no mobile phone policy. Can teamSOS work around that?

Yes. Staff can call for help from a desktop, laptop or tablet, or with a smart panic button on a lanyard or a bunch of keys. Responders who are away from their desks, usually leaders and site staff, receive the call on a phone or tablet.

How does teamSOS compare to a walkie-talkie?

Every member of staff gets walkie-talkie style push-to-talk, but a message only reaches the staff in that incident, and every voice note stays in the feed to replay. There are no handsets to charge or lose. See how it replaces radios.

We use Teams or Google for this. What's different about teamSOS?

teamSOS is built by the founders of Groupcall and ParentPay, specifically for how schools respond to incidents. It sits above everyday email and chat, sends each incident type to the right people, and gives staff task lists and first-aid videos so the right steps are followed until help arrives.

We use WhatsApp. Why shouldn't we carry on?

WhatsApp's own terms say it isn't a professional communication tool. Using it for school business makes it hard to comply with UK GDPR, because you have no control over the data. With teamSOS your data is protected, and you can remove access the moment someone leaves.

Does it work for lone workers?

Yes. The app and a smart button suit site staff working out of hours and staff visiting families, so help is always within reach.
