Ask us a questionWhen does Martyn's Law come into force?
The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, known as Martyn's Law, received Royal Assent on 3 April 2025. The Security Industry Authority, which will regulate it, expects it to come into force in spring 2027 and will confirm the date beforehand.
Which venues are in scope?
Standard tier covers premises where 200 to 799 people are reasonably expected to be present at the same time. Enhanced tier covers premises for 800 or more, and some qualifying events of 800 or more with entry controls, such as ticketing.
What will standard tier venues need to do?
Tell the Security Industry Authority you're in scope, and have procedures, so far as reasonably practicable, for evacuation, invacuation, lockdown and telling people what's happening if an attack is suspected.
Do we have to buy a system to comply?
No. What matters is that your procedures exist and your staff can follow them. teamSOS helps staff start and carry out those procedures quickly and keeps a record of what happened.
Can teamSOS replace our radios?
At smaller venues, yes: every member of staff gets push-to-talk, messages and alerts on their own phone. At large grounds with a control room, teamSOS works alongside your radios and adds one-tap alerts, announcements and the record.
