No. It works the same way for multi-academy trusts, single-academy trusts, federations and other groups of schools: anywhere a central team wants one standard across more than one site.
Can each school keep its own procedures and policies?
Yes. The trust sets the templates and each school adds its own local detail, such as muster points, response teams and wording. Your central team can publish trust-wide policies and each school can add its own, so staff see both in one place.
Does teamSOS make our schools Martyn's Law compliant?
No system can do that on its own, and the law doesn't require you to buy one. Readiness comes from having the right procedures in place and staff who know them. teamSOS covers the communication that holds evacuation, invacuation and lockdown together, makes every procedure easy to practise, and keeps a time-stamped record of drills and real incidents in every school.
Will the trust know when one of its schools has an emergency?
Yes, if you want it to. You can set your central team to be alerted the moment a school raises an SOS or starts a lockdown, and follow the live OK and NOT OK responses as they come in.
How long does it take to roll out across a trust?
Days, not terms. There's no new hardware to buy or install. Staff sync from Entra ID or a spreadsheet, templates are set once by the trust, and every school gets set-up support. A typical school is live in a day or two.
Does the trust pay centrally, or does each school?
Either. Some trusts are invoiced centrally for every school, others have each school invoiced directly. Trust-wide roll-outs get group-buy discounts, so talk to us for a quote.
Some of our schools have a no mobile phone policy. Can teamSOS work around that?
Yes. Staff can call for help from a desktop, laptop or tablet, or with a smart button on a lanyard or a bunch of keys. Responders who are away from their desks, usually leaders and site staff, receive the call on a phone or tablet.
We use WhatsApp. Why shouldn't we carry on?
WhatsApp's own terms say it isn't a professional communication tool. Using it for school business makes it hard to comply with UK GDPR, because you have no control over the data. With teamSOS your data is protected, and you can remove access the moment someone leaves.
Can it link to our corporate systems?
teamSOS supports single sign-on with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, alongside bulk upload, quick individual invites and selective user sync from both. It can also integrate with your API-enabled systems, case by case, to fit your own workflows.
